1. Introduction
- Purpose of This Privacy Policy. This Privacy Policy describes how Rossi Domingue LLP, organized under the laws of California with its principal place of business at 465 N. Santa Cruz, California (referred to in this Privacy Policy as “Company,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), collects, uses, discloses, and otherwise processes information about users of our website located at rdlaw.net and any related online services that link to or display this Privacy Policy (collectively, the “Site”).
- Scope of This Privacy Policy. This Privacy Policy applies to information that we collect online through the Site. It is intended to comply with California Business and Professions Code section 22575 and related California privacy requirements, and it is also designed to align with California’s broader consumer privacy framework, including the California Consumer Privacy Act of 2018 (CCPA), as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), to the extent applicable to our operations.
- By Using the Site. By accessing or using the Site, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with any part of this Privacy Policy, you should not use the Site or otherwise provide your personal information to us through the Site, except to the extent required to submit a request regarding your privacy rights.
- Applicability to California Residents. This Privacy Policy contains disclosures that are specifically required under California law, including section 22575 of the Business and Professions Code. Certain sections of this Privacy Policy apply only to residents of the State of California, as expressly indicated.
- Updates to This Privacy Policy. We may revise this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the “Last Updated” date at the top of this Privacy Policy. Any changes will be effective when we post the revised Privacy Policy on the Site, unless a later effective date is stated. Your continued use of the Site following the posting of an updated Privacy Policy constitutes your acceptance of the changes.
2. Definitions
- Personal Information. For purposes of this Privacy Policy, and consistent with California law, “personal information” means information that identifies, relates to, describes, is reasonably capable of being associated with, or could reasonably be linked, directly or indirectly, with a particular consumer or household. Personal information does not include:
- Publicly available information;
- Deidentified or aggregated information that is not reasonably capable of being associated with or linked to a particular consumer or household;
- Information that is excluded from the scope of California consumer privacy laws, such as certain medical or health information, or certain information subject to the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act or other sector-specific privacy laws.
- Sensitive Personal Information. “Sensitive personal information” means personal information that reveals a consumer’s social security number, driver’s license number, state identification card number, passport number, financial account information with access credentials, precise geolocation, racial or ethnic origin, religious or philosophical beliefs, union membership, genetic data, biometric information used for identification, health information, or information concerning a consumer’s sex life or sexual orientation, as defined by applicable California law.
- Consumer. “Consumer” means a natural person who is a resident of the State of California, as defined by California law.
- Sell,” “Selling,” “Sale,” “Share,” or “Sharing. “Sell,” “selling,” “sale,” “share,” and “sharing” have the meanings given to those terms under California law, including the disclosure or making available of personal information to a third party for monetary or other valuable consideration, or for certain cross-context behavioral advertising purposes, subject to statutory exceptions.
- Business Purpose. “Business purpose” means the use of personal information for the operational and other notified purposes of our business, consistent with California law.
- Service Provider” and “Contractor. “Service provider” and “contractor” mean entities that process personal information on our behalf and pursuant to a written contract that includes specific privacy and security obligations as defined by California law.
3. Categories of Personal Information We Collect
At present, we have a “Contact Us” page where users can provide information including a description of their legal issue. This would be the main way that we could potentially collect personal information, but other ways may be added if our website is modified or expanded. So depending on how you interact with the Site and our services, we may collect, and in the preceding twelve (12) months may have collected, the following categories of personal information about you; however, many may not apply at all because it depends upon what the user inputs, and in many cases none of the below information is or has been collected (but this disclosure is made in an abundance of caution). Therefore, not all categories are collected from all users; we collect only the categories reasonably necessary and proportionate to the purposes described in this Privacy Policy.
- Identifiers. This category may include:

If you shared with us details of your legal issue, THIS DOES NOT CREATE AN ATTORNEY CLIENT RELATIONSHIP, and you should not share anything that is confidential. The information shared in the description of a legal issue is mainly used to evaluate the possible entry into an attorney client relationship and so we can hopefully respond to the user appropriately. But to the extent other personal information is collected, such as if we were to expand the functionality of the site to do so, the specific purposes for which we process your personal information will depend on the nature of your relationship and interactions with us and with the Site.
- Providing and Operating the Site and Our Services. This includes:
- Operating, hosting, maintaining, and securing the Site and related systems;
- Providing, personalizing, and improving the content, features, and functionality of the Site;

As mentioned above, what you put in our Contact Us section under the legal issue section is for us and we treat it carefully as discussed above. But is other personal information were collected, such as if we expanded Site features or functionality, we may disclose the categories of personal information described above to the following categories of recipients for the purposes set forth in this Privacy Policy. In the preceding twelve (12) months, we may have disclosed the following categories of personal information to these recipients for a business purpose.

8. Retention of Personal Information
- Retention Criteria. We retain personal information for as long as necessary to achieve the purposes for which it was collected or as otherwise required or permitted by applicable law. In determining appropriate retention periods, we consider:

- The purposes for which we process the personal information and whether we can achieve those purposes through other means;

10. California-Specific Disclosures and Rights
The following disclosures and rights apply to California residents to the extent required by California law, including Business and Professions Code section 22575 and, where applicable, the CCPA/CPRA.
- Disclosures Pursuant to Section 22575. To the extent section 22575 applies to the Site:
- This Privacy Policy identifies the categories of personal information that we collect about individual users who visit the Site, the categories of third-party persons or entities with whom that personal information may be shared, and the process (if any) by which users are notified of material changes to this Privacy Policy;
- This Privacy Policy is posted conspicuously on the Site and is accessible from the Site’s home page via a link containing the word “Privacy” or similar language;
- This Privacy Policy describes our online tracking practices, including our use of cookies and other tracking technologies, and any choices you may have regarding such practices.
- Right to Know/Access. Subject to certain limitations, California residents may have the right to request that we disclose:
- The categories of personal information we have collected about them;
- The categories of sources from which the personal information is collected;
- The business or commercial purposes for collecting, using, or disclosing personal information;
- The categories of third parties to whom we disclose personal information;
- The specific pieces of personal information we have collected about them.

At the present time, we do not engage in practices that we consider to be a sale or sharing of personal information as defined under California law. If this changes, we will update this Privacy Policy and implement mechanisms to enable you to exercise your right to opt out.

To the extent we collect sensitive personal information subject to this right, California residents may have the right to direct us to limit the use and disclosure of sensitive personal information to certain permitted purposes. To the extent applicable, we will use sensitive personal information only as reasonably necessary and proportionate to provide requested services, maintain security and integrity, or as otherwise permitted by law.
- Right to Non-Discrimination. We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of your California privacy rights. This means that, unless otherwise permitted by law, we will not:
